The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is a faith journey for those desiring to enter the Catholic Church or for those who wish to complete their initiation into the Church. These “inquirers” include: non-baptized persons, people baptized in another Christian tradition, or those Catholics baptized but never catechized. The Sacraments of Initiation are Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist.
There are several stages in the process, each marked by a Rite celebrated in the midst of the assembly during Mass. Pre-Catechumenate or inquiry is a time to ask questions about the Church; Catechumenate provides a time of catechesis/education, prayer, fellowship and conversion; Purification and Enlightenment is the Lenten time of prayer, almsgiving and fasting to prepare for the Easter Sacraments of Initiation; and Mystagogy is a time of reflection which allows the new Catholics an opportunity to deepen their understanding and living of the Sacred Mysteries which have been celebrated.
Religious Education
The St. Therese Religious Education Program provides Religious education for those students not enrolled in a Catholic elementary school. The program provides weekly classes for children in grades 1-8. Our Religious Education Program aspires to build a foundation of faith, in partnership with parents, from which our children will continue to grow in their knowledge of God and the Roman Catholic Church
Children's Liturgy of the Word
Children's Liturgy of the Word takes place during the 11am Mass. Children ages 3-8 are invited to participate. We will read aloud a kid-friendly version of the Gospel for the week, along with prayers and other activities. Children will return to the sanctuary in time to put their offering in Father's collection basket
