SCRIP Coordinator Needed

-

The St. Therese SCRIP Program is looking for a new Coordinator to help run the SCRIP program effective August 2017

Position 1: Order and Inventory Coordinator:

Responsibilities include inventory management, ordering all SCRIP, soliciting new SCRIP vendors, maintaining and balancing the SCRIP checking account, writing checks, arranging for SCRIP pickup with SCRIP runners, managing SCRIP sellers and runners and recruiting as necessary. The position also handles marketing of the SCRIP program. The coordinator works alongside the SCRIP coordinator/bookkeeper and the job responsibilities are very intertwined with the other team member. Candidates must be able to work in the school every Monday, including summers, as well as every Friday afternoon and extra hours when necessary. (Times may vary according to schedule conflicts and vacations.)

Candidates must be willing to work more hours during the holiday season. Candidates must be regular SCRIP buyers, enjoy working with people, have excellent communication skills, be very detail-oriented, have basic computer knowledge, have good organizational skills and be able to perform all of the SCRIP duties as listed above, as well as other projects and tasks that may be asked of by the principal or pastor. The job entails frequent communication with customers, teachers, principal, priest and the St. Therese SCRIP auditors. Pastoral Council 

Call for nomination: The tenure of some members of the present Pastoral Council will soon end. We are therefore calling for nominations and suggestions for those who will serve in the Council. You may wish to self nominate or nominate someone who you think will usefully serve in the Council, giving reasons for your suggestion. Please, drop off your suggestions/ nomination in the suggestion box in the Church Gathering Space or even post it to the Pastor if you so desire, or email your suggestion to the Pastor at father@sttheresefw.org. Of course, the nominated persons must be above 18 years and be registered active members of the parish who can provide valuable guidance for the pastor and parish.

St. Therese Fall Festival 2017

The Fall Festival is quickly  approaching with a NEW DATE of September 16th!! The Fall Festival Committee is still looking for the  generous donations of our  parishioners’ time, talent and dollars to make this year’s festival one of the best yet. It is only with your help that the festival can be a success. Please stop by the table at the back of church for further information and sign-up sheets


OLDER AMERICAN DAY

Harvest House Older American Day will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. 943 Powers St., New Haven, IN on Monday, Sept.11th, beginning with Rosary at 10:20am and Mass at 10:45am in the church. This will be followed by lunch and entertainment at Orchid Events and Catering, 11508 Lincoln Hwy East, New Haven, IN. Tickets are $12 each. Reservations may be made by calling Bev Kline at 260-623-3979 by September 1st. No tickets will be sold at the door. All Catholic Seniors 55 and older are invited.

 

FORMED

FORMED is back! Because we received a grant through the Legacy of Faith fund, we once again have a subscription for FORMED. FORMED has a variety of educational materials you are able to view at home or in a group setting. In order to evangelize others, you need to know your faith. 2017 Parish Mission DVD Now Available

Thanks to the hard work of Eric Peat, we now have the Parish Mission DVD available for any parishioner to borrow. It features our Sunday evening guest speaker Robert Rogers and the personal testimonies of three of our own parishioners.

Women in the Word

 Are you looking to block out a space just for you? A time to share the Word with other women who seek to deepen their faith and share prayer and the opportunity to discuss the Word too? Please join us the first Wednesday of each month from 7:00-8:30 p.m. in the parish office. 

 


         

SPARC (Small Parishes Actively Receiving Christ)

SPARC is a Men’s Apostolate seeking to become closer to God through Prayer, Scripture and Catechesis. Every man over the age of 18 is  welcome to meet in the parish office on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday’s of each month at 7 p.m. The next meeting is November 9th. Rosary for Peace in the World and in Families

A few years back our Lady asked for prayer groups be formed. Here at St. Therese our group was formed and we are in our ninth year. We pray for peace in the world and in all families. Won't you please join u​s? We meet every 2nd Tuesday of the month in the chapel at 6:00 pm. Hope to see you there.

Divine Mercy Devotion

Now through the end of the Year of Mercy, St Therese Church will be having a Divine Mercy devotion. It will be held in the Chapel on the first and third Tuesdays of every month following evening Mass (6:15pm) Spend time to learn more about the mercy of God, learn to trust in Jesus, and live your life as merciful to others as Christ is merciful to you.​

The eighth running of the SetonFest Miracle Miles 5K Run/Walk will be held on Saturday, August 5th at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church located at 10700 Aboite Center Road in Ft. Wayne. HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATES AND ANYONE WHO HAS TURNED (OR IS) 18!

When you turn 18, you should register at the parish of your choice as an adult. Please make sure you take a few moments to call and let us know you would like to register as an adult—EVEN if you are going away to school, you should register somewhere. To receive future sacraments like marriage, you will need to be registered at the parish before receiving the sacraments.

 If you are currently performing a ministry (server, Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, Lector), please let us know whether you will be able to continue in that service or if you need to be removed from future schedules.
